Avtek, Specialist Façade Solution providers, reinforce their position as one of Scotland’s leading Curtain walling manufacturer and installer having secured the contract to design, supply and manufacture the curtain walling, windows and doors for the new Inverness Justice Centre.

The Scottish Government intend to house various justice and supporting organisations in the new purpose-built facility, including the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service (SCTS) currently based at Inverness Castle. In contrast to the existing base, the new Inverness Justice Campus will offer modern facilities fit for purpose and bring it into the 21st Century.

Avtek’s Operations Director, Mark Lawrie, explained “For this project, Avtek are supplying the latest in façade technology by installing 2300m² of Technal MX52 and MY62 curtain walling. These complete aluminium curtain walling suites not only help us to achieve the aesthetics required by the architect, but they also offer enhanced thermal performance.”

The use of this advanced curtain walling enabled Avtek to install FY65 windows and ST II doors which are fully compatible with the system providing a high quality and consistent building envelope that meets the BS EN standards.

Reflecting a very progressive Scotland, the project, whilst exhibiting a modern and efficient exterior, will also utilise the latest in digital technology indoors to help eliminate the need for children to appear in court in person. Due to opened by the end of 2019, the move into the new facility will leave the Inverness castle vacated and ready to be used as a tourist attraction.
