Perth High School is one of the first and largest Passive House (Passivhaus) schools in Scotland, UK. As a large-scale LEIP (Learning Estate Investment Programme) funded development for Perth & Kinross Council and procured by hub East Central Scotland, the new modern education facility is designed for very low-energy consumption and high-performance impact. Occupying a prominent, elevated site in the west end of the city, the structure delivers a confident expression of a 21st-century school.

Another PASSIVHAUS school completed for Avtek, our second school in Perth after Riverside primary was completed in Oct 2023 and our eighth overall PASSIVHAUS delivery.

PHS opened its doors in August 2025 and accommodates 1,600 pupils and 140 staff, flooded with natural light, the facilities offer diverse opportunities and better learning environments, supporting and enhancing the experience of students and teachers alike.

The new facility was designed by NORR and delivered by Robertson Group.

Avtek supplied the following Metal Technology Ltd products on the project – MT System 5-45HI+ Passivhaus Windows, MT System 17HI+ Passivhaus Curtain Walling, MT System 5-35D Passivhaus Doors and triple glazed units with Low E coatings.
